Canterbury Estate

Key Points:
  • This home was designed to look and feel like a sprawling French country estate home. The 3-car garage is connected to the house by a large colonnade with timber beams covered in flowering ivy. A potting shed offers the necessary workplace to maintain the immaculately landscaped grounds.
  • The large foyer opens to a grand circular stair. A gentleman’s study greats guests from its wood-paneled walls and coffered beams. A formal dining room connects to the main kitchen past a large pantry. The center of the home is a two-story classic Orangerie wrapped in tall double doors trimmed in classical details and crowned with circular windows. The master suite wraps behind a large French fireplace. The master bath centers on a pedestal tub against a metal window wall, which offers a sunroom feel.
  • The kitchen opens to a large keeping room with a bistro breakfast nook, a large fireplace, and vaulted ceilings. The keeping room opens a long wall of slider doors to an immaculate French lawn and swimming pool. A covered veranda with an outdoor fireplace and grill creates the perfect space for year-round outdoor living.
  • The upper level offers three spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms accessed by the circular stair overlooking the Orangerie below.
  • The property is detailed in French landscaping and hardscaping at every corner. The exposed aggregate driveways are flared and lined with brick edging. A classic hedgerow creates a tasteful privacy barrier along the front without hiding the majestic architecture of the home. Delicate brass rails detail the front of the painted brick home with ornate cast stone balconies and copper downspouts. The slate roof is punctured by two handsome chimneys that frame the facade’s core.
